Greetings, fellow Geeks:)
I'm using JFW 7, IE 6 on Windows 2K Professional. I have noticed, especially on this site, that when I reload the page, IE fetches new content, but, the JFW model of the screen still shows the precvious content, sometimes. I have to use the "refresh screen" key (insert+escape) to read the new content. I am using the default HTML settings for JFW, and have added no personal settings for The Zone BBS site.
Thanks for any suggestions,
-Dave H
Good day to you Dave. I have had the same problems in Winxp Pro and don't even know where to begin to solve this. You might try and run the Jaws repair tool to see if this corrects the problem. Unfortunatley, I can't even pin down what causes this since it has only happened on certain machines. I would make sure you have all of the latest service pacs installed. Also, be sure you don't have too many things running in your systray. sometimes this is the cause of Jaws not deeing things properly. Also, I have found that extraneous tool bars can cause problems. Ilimanate any tool bars you don't need. Example, the google tool bar will prevent the Jaws curser from correctly right clicking on a link to open the context menu for cutting and pasting. You also might consider seeing if there are any updates to your video drivers and install them. Remember, you can role them back if there is a problem.
Use firefox, it doesn't ahve that problem as far as I can tell. I've had the same problem though with this site, internet explorer 6 windows xp pro with sp 2 and jaws 7.0
Thank you both for your suggestions. Bliddguy, I do use Firefox; you're right, I don't se this problem with FF. I was making a suggestion re: JFW7 and IE6, and curious about possible workarounds. Willie: thanks for yours.
Cheers,
-Dave (a user of Firefox for browsing, and Thunderbird for mail)
I too had this issue, I posted this on the blind tech email list and I was told it was jaws just being jaws. I have since went back to 6 because of all the trouble I've had with jaws7 here at home and at work.

Hmm, Troy!
How willing we are to lower our expectations where Windows, and, especially, JFW, are concerned.
Thanks for all input,
-Dave
